Curlisha is an accomplished therapist with 20 years of experience specializing in women's issues, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. Her holistic approach to psychotherapy includes short term Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) ; with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). to address addictions, relational challenges, racial trauma, and emotional distress.
In addition to her therapy practice, Curlisha offers consultative services to individuals and organizations aiming to improve mental health and addiction healthcare initiatives. She also provides clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians, helping them advance toward full licensure.
Curlisha holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Michigan University, a Master of Social Work from The University of Alabama, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama. She is a certified Masters Addiction Counselor through the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Counselors (NAADAC) and is licensed to practice social work in Georgia (LCSW) and Alabama (LiCSW). She is also approved to provide telemental health services to clients in Florida.
Her extensive experience includes work in mental health, addictions, co-occurring disorders, and childhood trauma, with a particular focus on clinical assessment. Curlisha maintains professional affiliations with the National Association of Social Workers, Junior League of DeKalb County, and The Order of the Eastern Star.
In her personal life, Curlisha is passionate about the humanities, genealogy , herbalism, culture, dance, volunteerism, and philanthropy, all of which enrich her professional and personal endeavors.
